About Me

Hey, I'm Nickaan. I'm an incoming Molecular and Cell Biology student at UCSD. The purpose of this website is to give you guys a little bit of an insight of what I've been reading, what project's I've been working on, and what I'm building towards.

Some quick facts:

• Starting at UC San Diego as a Molecular and Cell Biology major.
• Into genetics, cell signaling, and the overlap between biology and computers.
• I read a lot of papers and like jotting down informal notes on them. That will go on my blog.
• I plan to mess around with side projects too and I'll show updates on the blog.

Some Things I've Done

A few of my favorites so far, grouped roughly by what they are:

Research & Science

• Summer Intern, GEn1E Lifesciences (Summer 2025). Built scoreexplorer.org, a web platform that aggregates and visualizes 129 clinical scoring systems used to track human health and disease. Created a database so researchers and clinicians can actually compare diagnostic scores across cardiology, neurology, oncology, and more.
• Columbia University Summer Immersion, Neuroscience (Summer 2024). Did a college-level neuroscience course at Columbia, sitting in on lab demos and research discussions on neural mechanisms and cognitive neuroscience.
